Crockpot Confusion

A wedding registry spree at Williams-Sonoma made us new owners of an awesome Cuisinart Multicooker that has, unforuntately sat in a closet for months.  As a family who doesn’t eat any red meat, rarely eats other meat, and loves seafood, I am trying to understand the benefit to a crockpot.  I have dreams of coming home to a stew that has been bubbling away all day absorbing the flavors of all the goodies in the pot.  But I really need to know…

Why use a crockpot when I can use a stovetop?
